DTF Transfer Sheets for Inkjet Printers
What Are DTF Transfer Sheets?
The Role of PET Film in DTF Printing
DTF (Direct to Film) transfer sheets are specialized PET films designed to hold printed ink before it’s transferred to fabric or other surfaces. These sheets are engineered to work with DTF inks and powders, offering high resolution, crisp colors, and smooth transfer.
At MagicPrint4U, we offer high-quality DTF transfer sheets that are optimized for both DTF Printers and certain modified inkjet printers.
Compatibility with Inkjet Printers
While traditional inkjet printers aren't built for DTF printing, many users convert inkjet models (like Epson L1800 or XP600) with specialized inks and software to use DTF PET sheets. It’s crucial to use sheets designed for the right ink formulation and heat settings.
How to Use DTF Sheets with Inkjet Printers
1. Load the DTF Transfer Sheet
Load the sheet into your printer’s rear tray with the printable side facing up. Make sure your printer has been converted for DTF ink and supports white ink printing.
2. Print the Design in Mirror Mode
Using compatible RIP software, print your design in mirror image with color first and white layer second. Ensure correct alignment and color saturation.
3. Apply Hot Melt Powder
Evenly coat the printed design with hot melt powder while the ink is still wet. Shake off excess powder and ensure full coverage of the design.
4. Cure the Sheet
Use a curing oven or heat press (hover mode) to melt the powder and prepare the film for pressing. Do not overheat, as it can affect the print quality.
5. Transfer to Fabric
Place the cured film on your garment and heat press it at the recommended temperature and time. Once pressed, peel cold or hot depending on the film type.
